Casting is otherwise genius — John Goodman as Pops Racer, Speed’s father. Susan Sarandon as Mom Racer, Speed’s mother. Christina Ricci as Trixie, Speed’s girlfriend. Ricci was chosen over Elisha Cuthbert and Kate Mara.
